The sauce was fresh enough - but it wasn't * cheese* sauce. It tasted like they were cutting corners on the cheese sauce. My husband and I split the 'appetizer' size portion of the mac & cheese (one of this place's few signature dishes). This time, my husband wanted to 'truly eat outdoors', so we decided to give this place another shot. The great desserts were gone - replaced with stuff that tasted like it had been outsourced from a 3rd party commercial bakery. On a previous visit, my husband and I brought friends to show off those fabulous desserts - only to find that the entire menu had been completely revamped. There were times when we would go other places for dinner and then go to Public House for dessert. And they had *fantastic* desserts - some of the best on the island. Good place for simple food in a fairly relaxed atmosphere. The vibe of this place has gone sideways in the past couple of years. Went to this place because my intended destination (the awesome Pera Bell Food Bar) was closed for the Labor Day holiday. The mayor came and asked how many people went to restaurants in Patchogue before the performance.the vast majority did.

Don't know who the older woman was, perhaps an owner, but did she really think someone there would remember us for a credit or that we would be frequenting the same restaurant any time soon? It is really no effort to void a credit card sale and resubmit it! That was very poor business practice.īut kudos for renovating the theater! It was a full house. So while away from the table I was told we paid full price and an older lady who worked there said that they would credit us 'next time.' Seriously? I called over our waitress to void the sale and ring us up with the discount which she did very willingly. We found out we would get 10% off our tab. It is close to the Patchogue Theater and we had tickets for a performance. Even though it was a small plate, I still had left overs for a doggie bag. Had their signature mac and cheese with bacon.

Love the idea of having small and large plate options.
